Housed in a refurbished Saxon farm dating from 1909, guests can visit the beekeeper and the sheep farm. Guests can use free of charge bicycles upon request and go cycling to other nearby Saxon villages. Horseback riding lessons are offered at the Dracula Complex&Horse riding school, which is 23 km away.

We reached Pension Cartref after a long hike on Via Transilvanica and had a lovely time chatting with Anca and relaxing in the back yard with the kittens. Anca even made us sandwiches to take with us the next morning! Amazing accommodation, hosts and cats :)

    Exceptional stay! Museum quality farm artifacts on display. Gated traditional farm with chickens, turkeys, a peacock, donkeys, horses, sheep, and rabbits to view. Excellent breakfast. Next door to a fortified church. In a small village where you can walk around and view village life.

    A charming renovated traditional farmhouse in a fantastic and typical quite village with very friendly hosts, with delicious traditional breakfast. We recommend to take the additional dinner, really delicious all made with local ingredients following old family recepices.

    The property was beyond cozy and beautiful. It was extremely comfortable in all aspects, having farm animals was a treat, and being able to see the stars and constellations at night were all a plus. Also, the dinner and breakfast were delicious!!!

    Traditional Saxon house in a small village with beautiful scenery all around. Well located for mountain biking and enjoying a rural retreat. Excellent service despite lack of English. They had a fire going in our room every night when we returned.

    Wonderful location with a great feeling when staying in the room or in the rustic backyard animated by donkeys and horses. We were served with delicious breakfast and dinner, all made with local products : vegetables, cheese specialties, bread baked in a wood oven, fresh milk and the list could continue :) .
