The 2 hosts of this family-run farm were absolutely fantastic. Always welcoming, extremely nice and always available to help. They really made us feel at home, it was perfect. The food with locally sourced ingredients/produce - both at breakfast and dinner - is mostly cooked in the moment and was always delicious. Location-wise, it's a great spot to set camp to explore Gerês for a few days.

WOW!! If you are even thinking about booking Casa do Penedo, just do it. The scenery is amazing, the house is huge with all the comforts of home and a unique collection of art. About 30 minutes drive to the village of Geres. The kayaks were fun on the river but boy the current was tough, and we loved spending lounge time in the pool after a day of sightseeing nearby villages or hiking. We grilled every night and dined al fresco at the large table (even beautiful table clothes provided) and enjoyed our morning coffee on the veranda with the most beautiful mountain and river views. We hardly saw anyone during our stay and it was like we had the entire mountain to ourselves. Can't wait to go back!

This tiny, quiet village was the perfect stay for hiking and relaxing. We were able to do some laundry, make a meal, and relax on the terrace. We hiked all day the next day including a wonderful waterfall and swimming hole.
