Boasting views over the valley, Saronsberg Vineyard Cottages offers cosy cottages with a lounge area. Situated just outside the historic town of Tulbagh on the slopes of the Saronsberg Mountain, It features Saronsberg wine tasting room.

This was our second time staying at Saronsberg and we wouldn't hesitate to return. The setting is beautiful, and the cottages are very well appointed with glasses/kitchenware/crockery etc. The indoor and outdoor braai are a lovely touch, and it would be easy to self cater for several days without issue. Complimentary milk, water, tea/coffee and delicious Saronsberg olive oil and spices were provided. The linens and towels were of a good quality, and Charlotte Rhys toiletries are provided. The wifi worked well, as did the air con (bedroom only). The pool area was always clean and tidy, and was great for a dip. Pool towels were provided. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly and engaging (our housekeeper was particularly lovely). We did a 9 glass wine tasting at the tasting room which was a lovely, relaxed experience (the setting by the pond is just gorgeous). The cost was 120 ZAR per person, but this was waived if you spent over 400 ZAR on bottled wine to take away (which we were more than happy to do!). Food isn't served, although it is possible to purchase a small cheese plater when available.

This is an absolutely amazing hotel. The staff was very friendly, the hotel beautiful and the breakfast excellent. We will definitely be back.

For guests with children, the apartment provides an indoor play area and a baby safety gate. Cycling, fishing and canoeing are possible within the area, and The Boathouse at Oakhurst Olives offers water sports facilities.

Everything was excellent! I can't find any faults with the Boathouse. The location is perfect and the hot tub and pool table are nice additions to a lovely place. The chilled wine in the fridge on arrival, and the complementary olive oil tasting really showed they've thought about their guests. Thank you, Pieter, for a wonderful stay!

Featuring an outdoor swimming pool and views of garden, The Victorian of Church Street - Cape Dutch Quarters is a holiday home situated in a historic building in Tulbagh, 300 metres from De Oude Kerk Museum Tulbagh. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are available at the holiday home free of charge. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace.

I was only here for one night on a 16 day cycling tour, but this stands out as the most memorable of all the places I stayed. I had a very comfortable night's sleep in a self contained 'apartment', set amongst a cluster of well preserved period style buildings (200 years old apparently). Also, a very nice breakfast was served the following morning in the large central dining room. No restaurant on site but there are several options nearby, of which I found the Olive Tree (2 mins walk) to be excellent. Normally you stay somewhere in order to see or do other things in the area, but in this case the actual stay was the highlight, like being transported back in time.

I loved the setting and especially the peacefulness and serenity that surrounded the house. The children had fun with zip lining as well as playing at the dam. Also the fact that its self catering just makes it so much more easier to prepare meals at your leisure and eat whenever. I would highly recommend this place.

The furniture is so functional, there was everything we needed, real glasses, nice setup but I think what stole our hearts was the Kiddies play area and being able to hang out on the grass. We didn't make use of the pool but I can see how that can be so much fun. My son couldn't stop going to the play area, he hardly opened up his eyes after the first morning, hadn't had any breakfast or change of clothes and he just wanted us to open the door so we can go to the play area ❤️

We stayed in the Orchard cottage and had an excellent family breakaway from the daily hustle. Our kids had a great time exploring the surrounds as well as the splash pool and the swimming dam on site. The views from our stoep of springbok and zebra roaming around our cottage was awesome and the ample free firewood was excellent. We will definitely be back.
