The staff were all fantastic! The hotel was always wonderfully clean and tidy. The rooms were spacious, with towels and a hairdryer provided. The breakfasts were absolutely beautiful. The shuttle bus was excellent and extremely helpful. Restaurants, pubs, cafes and Duke University all within walking distance.

The attitude of staff at reception was not helpful nor friendly. In Thursday 12 I enquired if we could arrange a late checkout on Monday. I was told we would have to check on Monday. I was offered a half day rate but again I had to check on Monday. To be certain, I booked another day. On Monday there was no half day rate US260 for three hours ( we checked out at 230 pm) is a rip off. The receptionist said it was Marriott policy

The location of the site was fantastic. I expected more for a corner king-size room, but the room was similar to others, and I didn't see any difference. The pool is really tiny and it's only suitable for children. the noise level around the pool should be reduced on weekends.
The room was not good at all couldn't sleep people above me were loud as hell and so have kids you couldn't hear period. It sounded as if they coming through the floor. Breakfast don't know..Bed had burn holes all in the covers.

Did t eat breakfast as there wasn’t much variety for the hot foods. Not much counter space for a family of 3. We did like the suite style…separate living room/bedroom and full fridge.
Very quirky atmosphere, fun to look at even while just in the room. Also ideally located for my trip, central and within walking distance of many venues and restaurants.
Purchased a 2 queen beds room and got a king size room. The hotel was completely booked so they were not able to rearrange. I was traveling with my wife and 2 kids, got it very late to the surprise of only 1 king bed. They provided a roll out bed but very uncomfortable. This should be like a 60 dollar motel. Then the lady at front found out the hotel changed the room without notice and she was talking about charging extra for the rollout bed. She ended up not doing it, but unacceptable solution at that point.
