Pretty interesting venue with a sort of "villa" rooms. Room was pretty large for Samui. The pool was fantastic as well as the beach and sea in front. Showers to wash your feet after you swim in the sea are a nice and welcome addition. (both near the beach and in front of the room) The welcome drinks and pancakes were nice (although not very high quality) Hotel was looking good, clean and well maintained.

The hotel is well located and central. The beach is great. There are some restaurants near the hotel and it is about a 10-minute walk to the Chaweng shopping area. There is parking space for cars and motorbikes. The staff at reception are very friendly and attentive. The rooms are small but modern and well equipped. There are connecting rooms. The hotel, although small, is harmonious, it feels like a little Eden.

Such a lovely hotel! Beautiful rooms, 2 pools with comfortable beds. They bring you several free little snacks and drinks during the day when you spend your day at the hotel. Lovely staff! We were a bit scared because of the reviews about there being a buildingsite next to the hotel. But don’t let it keep you from booking: you will barely notice. They made a fence between the driveway and the buildingsite. When at the hotel or in the rooms you will never notice because it’s too far away from there. Breakfast also really good! Love it when you have a few a la carte options next to the buffet such as French toast or freshly made eggs.

Absolutely blown away by Sandalwood. This is our 5th hotel in 3 weeks, and by far the best stay we have had. Sad they only had 2 nights available. Very private, almost secret vibe. You are high up a steep hill, but the hotel provides free rides to surrounding area during the day to surrounding areas - (drop off AND pickup!). The view was BREATHTAKING - the best we've seen anywhere in Samui. The rooms (we stayed one night in 2 different rooms) were absolutely fabulous. We highly recommend requesting the Malee room, you'll be blown away. We didn't try the restaurant, but literally every single aspect of our stay was absolutely exceptional (I say this after moving here from The Nai Harn, a true 5-star hotel..) Rooms were very clean, smelled great, AC was positioned smartly in both (doesn't blow on you as you sleep). The pool was surprisingly deep and water was excellent. Towels were very clean and abundant. Everything was very solid, not flimsy/cheap - natural stone and wood. Everything was in excellent condition, nothing squeaky or broken. Big thank you to the staff, Sandalwood is a truly exceptional gem in Samui.

We decided to return to Anavana because of everything!! the clean sandy beach with sunbeds only for hotel guests offers a perfect place for a swim. The restaurant right next to the beach is very tasty and affordable, has awesome service and often a short evening entertainment. The entire property is very green and well maintained. The location of the hotel is a just right - quiet, yet you have everything you need. There are only 24 cottages, so even when the property is full it is not overcrowded. The rooms are clean and charming, with love for details - like candle oil burner, repellent spray, western type of toilet paper and the daily provided bottled water. There are smart tvs where one can use personal account to login and watch favourite shows and videos and the best part is that tv arm allows you to enjoy a movie while in bed. Overall best hotel experience during our 4 week tour through Cambodia and Thailand.

Hotel room has been recently renovated. Although it’s not very big but it’s very clean. And they have everything you need. Customer Service is exceptional and their breakfast is amazing. The entire hotel property has been well maintained. And their young GM doesn’t just sit in his big office but always around the front desk and takes his work seriously. We have nothing to complain except we should have stayed here longer.
