The bungalows and grounds were beautiful. The proximity to bird watching spots was key for us. There’s a restaurant run by the family and the food is delicious (albeit a bit pricey). The owners and staff are friendly in a genuine way.

The hotel rooms were large and clean. The mattresses were very comfortable. There was a soccer table game and a Billard table for the children to play. Another bonus was the free usage of the bicycles. The hotel faces the Mekong River and it was very relaxing to sit by the river. The buffet has a good spread of food. Staffs were friendly and helpful.

I loved how the owner made you feel at home. My experience felt like coming back to my family home after many years of living abroad; this feeling is unique as I am Mexican.

This resort is perfect if you are seeking Thai hospitality at it's very best in the completely authentic and unspoiled village of Yonok. All the bungalow verandahs are positioned to capture the Turneresque morning mist on the lake and the fiery sunsets. There is definitely a sense of magic about Viang Yonok which is hard to describe but immediately sensed. Be aware that Google Maps seems to be mystified by it, leading you to and from the resort by the most nonsensical routes if you're not careful.
