I'm travelling for 10 months and it was my favourite place.
Green fields, delicious food, best staf ever that will make you feel at home.
Also great and very strong wifi in the dinning room.
If you have time before you gonna move to Laos, just stay there for more days. Although Chaing khong is small you can have chilly and great time in the Baan Sakuna hotel.
Can't wait to visit again.

As families grow in size, so too do the needs of a family holiday. That’s why family hotels are set up to cater for all ages, from toddlers and kids to teens and adults. Typically, you can expect restaurants with kids’ menus, games rooms, fitness centres and a pool area where children can play and parents can relax.
Everything about this resort is great. It's run by a small family that is VERY friendly and nice. They also sell beautiful merchandise that contributes to a local red cross organisation. The room and toilet are BIG and CLEAN! You can see Laos across the river. They also have a cafe at the lobby that serves food and great coffee. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience. Will definitely make a return again.
The best bed in all our travels. V quiet spot, run by a very accommodating family. Food available on site for dinner and breakfast, perfect ahead of your slow boat journey. They even picked us up and dropped us off to the border.
The setting of this property is beautiful- as is the welcome from Mai and her lovely family. They could not do enough for us, and organised a Golden Triangle day tour that was fantastic.
The home cooked food was absolutely delicious, the rooms huge and sumptuous… if only we stayed much longer than two nights. We are already planning to return. Don’t miss it!
This is a beautiful hotel run to the highest standards by the family whose level of service is exceptional. We loved the whole place, the room was first class and so comfortable with great peaceful views towards Lao. Highly recommend this.
Very clean comfortable room that has everything you need. The owner is very friendly and helpful. As many others have said he picks you up from the bus in town and drops you border the next morning, all included in the room rate.
The restaurant owned by the family serves delicious food.
Baan Sakuna is a family business. Mai and her son Nak are extremely friendly , helpful and open-minded; they really want to make their guests feel home. The rooms are very spacious, clean and have a great view on the wonderful surrounding. It's a pity I just stayed one night...
The rustic style and it's superb location for stunning scenery.
The family and staff could not do enough for you. Would loved to have spent longer than one night there
A small paradise. We had a huge room with wide views across to Laos. The family was incredibly helpful. There are bicycles available & a there is a fabulous traffic free cycling route nearby. Sadly, we only stayed one night. I wish we could have stayed longer.
Lovely one night stop over. We felt very welcome and comfortable with our young children. The rooms were clean, stylish, compact and comfortable. Perfect for what we needed on our way through from Laos to Chiang Rai. We loved walking the local area, particularly along the Mekong and finding Cafe de Lao just up the road.
