Mike’s place is a wonderful secluded fishing paradise. Not really being a fisherman, I chose it to explore the region with a car. From there it’s easy to do day trips around the whole area, including west coast, Krabi, Phang Nga Bay, Khao Sok, etc. Sure I tried fishing and we got a huge relic fish whose origins are traced back over 100 million years ago. The property itself is well maintained which is rare in Thailand. Mike the owner is very positive and welcoming. He puts a lot of heart and efforts into the place and one can feel it when staying there. Hope to be back one day.

The whole property was really nicely decorated throughout. The room was extremely spacious and very comfortable. Very fast WiFi and a smart TV too! The owner was really nice and very helpful; booking us an incredible boat tour to Koh Panyee and James Bond Island, as well as a driver to Samet Nangshe and also our onward travel! Would definitely recommend this hidden gem. (Cash only if paying on arrival)

Origen Hotel is a little gem surrounded by absolutely stunning views. Choak and Jane are so sweet and make you feel so comfortable. The hotel is beautifully designed and they have thought of everything you need. This was hands down the nicest place we stayed in Thailand and were so happy we stayed for 5 days. So many things to do around the area and it was the perfect stop on our way to Khoa Lak. We also worked remotely in the evenings. They had a workspace in the room and on the top balcony dining area which was great for us. We will miss waking up to those views. Thank you for everything! 10/10 recommend

Fantastic host (Chai) who went above and beyond, helping us plan our activities, booking our onward travel and even arranging to mend my broken sandals! Comfortable rooms with a fridge, clothes hanging racks, air conditioning and a safe (and even a TV we didn’t use). Great breakfasts which set us up well for the day’s activities. Location was great away from the tourist hordes with easy access to a fantastic long tail boat tour of the bay (small groups at a great price), and plenty of great sights a short moped ride away (all arranged by Chai, who goes out of his way to make his guests experience great). Our favourite residence and host of our trip so far, highly recommended.
