This is a beautiful building, beautifully finished all in wood. I'm assuming teak. There are large seating areas with an open balcony on both floors, so you can escape the heat of the day and read. The bedroom was a good enough size. Huge and comfortable bed. Nice bathroom. Good shower. Lovely touches like a welcoming rice and banana snack and a gift bag of lovely soap. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. There is a library, which has an amazing range of books about Thailand and Lanna culture. We found a good one on the Wat murals and a couple on textiles. The hotel is well placed in the middle of Nan. We had a car and parked in front of the hotel. Great place. I'd stay again.

Baan Mai Muang Nan has all the cozy comfort of a homestay with the convenience and attention to detail of staying at a hotel. Stepping inside feels like coming home, and you are filled with a feeling of calm and serenity. The owner made me feel right and home, speaks very good English, and is very engaging in conversation. The room itself is spotlessly clean, with good working AC and a nice bathroom, and I even ended up staying longer than planned because it was such a great base to explore the charming city of Nan. And the location is unbeatable as well - only 5 mins from the weekend night market, Wat Phumin, and literally just round the corner from the Nan National Museum (highly recommended).
Thanks for making my stay in Nan extra special!

Very clean, tidy and groomed hostel with very friendly hosts in the center of Nan city. The little room with your bed is almost like a private room. Everything was spotless clean, with a nice interior and like on the pictures. I could also store my luggage during my scooter trip in the province and they give me good recommendations for a motorbike shop
