This is a wonderful little place just outside of Kinigi. There are only 4 individual lodges on this property, located in a wonderful, large garden, with beautiful mountain views, and a large fire pit area in the center. Each lodge is VERY big, with its own little patio, and indoor fireplace. It's absolutely wonderful. Large bathroom, with a very large shower, hot water all the time, good water pressure. I had an all-inclusive package and the chef was absolutely wonderful, with a different menu every day, and multiple options to choose from. I am originally from Paris, France and I am a foody. The food was truly excellent. The location was perfect; outside of Kinigi and only a 15-minute drive to the Gorillas trekking headquarters. On a side note, you would not want to stay downtown Kinigi, which is only a very small village with no amenities for foreigners. The staff could not have been any better, very friendly and always pro-active.

The resort met all my expectations and I was impressed with my stay. The welcoming was superb. I was offered an upgraded superior room which was super clean and specious with great amenities. The food was what i expected and the indian Chef Mr Vinod did a great job in preparing my vegetarian meal. All staff were super friendly and everything was taken care of. I will definitely return to stay at Virunga Inn.

This was probably the best stay we had all vacation. The people who work here are polite and very friendly, food is nice and the service is incredible. After the long hike they welcomed us with open arms and made a fire for us in the room. Just like they do every night when it gets cold. They also insisted on cleaning our hiking shoes and washing our hiking clothes. It was an experience to never forget! We even had a few Kinyarwanda lessons during dinner and we loved it. The staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. They always try their best to make us feel comfortable and help to answer all of our questions. The management team is very responsive. They even helped to recommend tour agencies and drivers when we were planning our itineraries. The resort is helping women to get quality job. The resort is very close to the headquarter of Volcanoes National Park, just a 20 minutes drive, so we get to prepare our activities in the Park with ease. The kitchen of the hotel is pretty nice too, as a vegan, they provide me a lot of options.
