The rooms and the whole property were very beautiful. The staff was very friendly and fast to help. During the organisation of the trip the manager was very responsive. The location is great. Just 5 mins from the park and next to the community centre that is very nice to visit

This was our first time visiting Akagera National Park. We were torn between staying inside or outside the park. So very happy that we chose Ihema Lodges. This is a beautiful, small set of lodges (5 in total I believe) with luxury interior and superb terraces with exceptional views. The sunrise was incredible, overlooking the lake and Tanzania in the distance. The food was also great, meticulously prepared by a caring cook. The breakfast was healthy, balanced and different every day. We will come back again, hopefully with friends. Such a quiet, lovely place - a gem, perfect for couples, but also a great fit for families on their "weekend-away" from Kigali.

Perfect place to have a rest after long drive in the park. The view is amazing! The rooms were clean. Wi-Fi worked good enough. We also enjoyed a pool outside. Probably, there is a need to pay attention to the water-filter, as it was not crystal clean and we observed small debris in water. Breakfast was wonderful. In general we liked the hotel.

This is a wonderful place to stay. Our room was spacious and tastefully decorated, with a very comfortable bed with luxury bedding. The breakfast is amazing - delicious homegrown organic food for dinner too. You are made to feel totally at home and relaxed to enjoy the main house and the gardens by the friendly staff. We particularly enjoyed feeding the donkeys carrots provided by the kitchen 🥰 We loved Rutete so much that we went back there after visiting Akagera Park to spend another night, changing our plans so that we could enjoy the relaxing ambience of the Lodge again. The garden was lovely. Good lattes with breakfast. Secure parking. Attentive staff: We arrived at night and the security guard found us driving around in circles and brought us on sight. Manager/owner very friendly and prompt. There is a bar attached if you’d like beers with the locals. And a little tuck shop next door too.

The owner who also guided us also during our safari in Akagera guide's House was very welcoming and family friendly and great with kids. We felt safe, relaxed and comfortable in his hands every second of our trip ! The dinner was very well prepared and delicious, as well as the breakfast that we took in the park as picnic.
