Bogdan was an incredibly welcoming host. He came to pick us up from the nearest station with a friend, and also helped us to arrange our onward travel. He also gave us great recommendations of where to eat. The room was beautifully decorated, very clean, and had a lovely view of the garden. Breakfast was served in the garden and was delicious. Viscri is a charming village. We stayed two nights but should have booked to stay for longer!

The location was excellent! The revival of the village church and parish houses was beautifully done to host guests at highest standards and at the same time show the cultural history and identity of the building and village. I was impressed that this guesthouse brings a lot to the local community and keeps history, culture and tradition alive.
The staff makes you feel like home. The meals prepared with locally grown and fresh food are so delicious and healthy!
It’s a perfect location to experience village life and connection to nature, in the centre of Romania, closer to all parts of the country.
Here we also had the chance to explore and understand better Transilvanya’s rich history and find out about the fortified church in Cincșor and other fortified churches in the region.
The design has beautifully combined old and new, giving honor to the traditional ancestry in a modern way. The pieces of furniture are well curated, mixing art and natural sweet details. There are a lot of books to browse as well.
I absolutely loved that there are many cats and dogs around in the village and they were very friendly and playful.

The small village is really nice and quiet. People in the village are polite and smiling. The staff at Schmidt House is helpful and nice. Check-in and check-out are later than mentioned on Booking. We chose a room on the ground floor, facing the street. Really nice decorated, all vintage and dressed up with good taste. The bathroom is very generous, well equipped and facing the courtyard. Bed is really comfortable and the room was chilly enough, though outside it was quite hot during the noon. The restaurant is 5-10 minutes walk, near the old church. Breakfast was good and offering a wide range of cheese and local ham, vegetables, eggs, local jam, fresh juice, coffee and home made bread. Lunch and dinner are limited, but really tasty and made with local products. Good wine range in the menu and beautiful landscapes on the terrace. We really enjoyed spending the weekend there. Rupea and Viscri are really close and deserve a visit.
