We loved everything about the place and the surrounding. What a peaceful oase! We looked for a place between Lissabon and Porto where we can experience the Douro Valley for a few days and this place met all our wishes and expectations. You DO need a car though.
We’ve been welcomed by a lovely owner Emanuele which owns also a bakery close by. That’s where the warm bread each morning for breakfast came from. And…they make the most delicious Pastel de Nata! If you look for a peaceful place, look no further.

This property is lovely. Two comfortable bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a full living room with fireplace, 3 balconies (one accessed from one of the bedrooms and one with dining table for meals outside), a large fully equipped kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher. We were met by a lovely friendly lady who laid out a welcome snack with bread, homemade jams, cheese, ham, pastries, wine, water and Port wine. The view is breathtaking with vineyards at the quinta looking out to the mountains. We parked right inside the next to the house. I cannot fault a single thing and will definitely return if I am in the area again. Perfect accommodation for a short or long visit for a family of 4 or 2 couples.

Luisa was incredible! We stayed 3 nights here and loved our time. It was relaxing and filled with making us feel at home! She provided us with a fridge full of food upon arrival and a small bottle of her own wine. Each morning she bought us fresh bread, cakes, eggs, juice etc which was such a nice touch! As we were heading out one morning she caught us and showed us the wine being made in the process which was fantastic to see! Always a text or call away and lots of recommendations and even offer to use the pool in her other property. We couldn’t recommend this place more - perfect location for a stay in the Douro Valley!

Very friendly welcome from Luisa. Some lovely local fruit and vegetables and other food given to us to use. The accommodation and the kitchen have everything one needs for an enjoyable stay. We also tasted local wine produced by the family which is of high quality. The surrounding area is beautiful for nature lovers and Alijo itself is an attractive and charming town. Fernanda was so friendly and helpful. Gave us a tour of the winery and lots of tips on places to visit around and about suited to our interests. The breakfast was delicious.

The Quinta looks out over the vine terraced countryside offering magnificent views. Surrounded by nature - lizards, geckos, birds of prey calling to each other. Small frogs jumping in the rock pools. Friendly family dogs to talk to. A relaxing haven .

Tranquil, tasty and beautiful slice of the real Portugal. Stunning views. Delicious food. Made us and our dogs so welcome. Bruno, Laura and family are hosts like no other.
The place is simply beautiful - the main house, the apartment, the view, the pool area. And on top Bruno and the staff are just really nice people. The quinta is really on the countryside, but still easy to reach within a couple of minutes from the motorway. An excellent base to explore the Alto Douro, without being directly in the tourist center such as Pinhao. Our apartment was really spacious. Bruno & family serve on set of traditional cuisine for dinner everyday - very much appreciated from our end.
We had a fantastic stay at the Quinta! The location is beautiful and peaceful, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and Bruno and his family went the extra mile to make our stay incredible.
