Charming old house and completely renovated inside. In the center of beatiful medieval town. Just next to Basilica. Andre is very friendly, helpful and speaking good english. The two floors appartement is exclusively cozy and clean ( thanks to Susanne). Her handmade marmelado is superb. We travel more than 14 years. This one is highly recommended.

For guests with children, the guest house offers an indoor play area, outdoor play equipment and a baby safety gate. A car rental service is available at CoraçãoD´Ouro, while hiking can be enjoyed nearby.

Location: Between the Sabor river and the Douro river, near IP2. When you cross the bridge on the Sabor go always up until you find the only yellow house – it’s the hotel. The location is quiet, with great views to the mountains and the Sabor river. The beach is close by. We recommend the Lamerinho restaurant (ca 800 m). The menu is very short: fried fish from the river served with chips and a salad. For the all-you-can-eat-and-drink (including wine and soft drinks) you will pay only 12,50 € pp (cash payment only). The place is a good base to explore south part of the Douro International Nature Park and the UNESCO site of the Coa Valley. Hotel: The building has three levels, each at the ground level (quite frequent in Portugal). The hosts live at the highest level, and the lowest level accommodate the hotel, 4 rooms, dining room and the terrace with great views. The hotel is separated and independent from the private area of the hosts. Room: small but functional, electric sockets available near the bed, lighting is OK Bed: large, for my wife it was very comfortable, for me little bit too hard, but I easily solved the problem with a duvet put on the mattress. Bathroom: large and comfortable, large shower cabin, good pressure of water. Breakfast: Excellent. If you prefer French style you can eat homemade jams, and homemade cake, fresh bread. In case you prefer German style you will find local meats, ham and cheese. We were also offered to make sandwiches to have a lunch during hiking we planned. WiFi: Good in the dining room and at the terrace, weak signal in the room. Parking: at the yard (rather tight). Alternatively there is also a parking space at the street – safe and more space. Staff: Excellent. Paula is very friendly and helpful. We could put our food into her refrigerator and were offered a boiling water to prepare our afternoon tea. If you stay more than one day ask Paula for a dinner. She loves to cook and prepares great food.

Guests can take in the atmosphere and go for a hike or discover the region in one of the hotel’s bicycles. A tennis court is also available, at an extra fee. The hotel is like a monument. The sealings are extraordinary and the rooms are spacious. But most of all i liked the kindness of the owner. She helped us in many ways to make our stay perfect. Thanks.

Beautiful property, finished to a high standard and very lovely, helpful hosts. Let me park my motorbike in their secure garage which is spacious but very much a family use garage so just enough space for one motorbike incase in a group. The town centre Is a nice part of the world to spend some time in. Would stay again.

Booked as the final few nights of a family holiday. Had stayed in Porto and Nazare previously so wanted somewhere rural where we could relax. The views are certainly spectular from both the casa and the pool. The welcome basket was full of local produce.

Our 2 rooms were really great with a beautiful decoration and a big bathroom. The family was really kind and attencionated with us ! They offer a wonderful breakfast (with a really nice view on the duro) with local products : bread, ham, jam, coffee, cake.... It was really difficult to communicate with then...our level of spanish and portugesh is not really good, but our stay was perfect ! Point of attention : the swimming pool on the photos is a private aquatique park

Beautiful house high on a hill in Foz Sabor outside of Pocinho at the end of train line up the Douro Valley. We were very hungry on arrival and Lourdes made us sandwiches and drinks. Breakfast the next morning was exceptional! Fresh fruit, yogurt, cheese, meats, cafe etc. Killer views and Susanna and her family were wonderful hosts. Thank you all for a magical stay.
