This is an amazing house, with amazing views and very thoroughly supplied. The house is very modern and of the highest quality. My husband was super impressed - and that is unusual. Communication was easy as was the check-in, check-out. We didn't get to use the pool, but it was very inviting. This house could comfortably accommodate a large group as there are many sitting areas (inside and outside.) We were only 3 and loved every moment there. Highly recommended.

Loved the space- there were 8 in our group and we had lovely rooms with plenty of other spaces to relax. We made great use of the snooker table. Great location despite all the steps. Helena and her daughter were amazing- so kind and helpful We stayed two nights and enjoyed a very generous breakfast on both mornings

We found Quinta da Galeira easily and the car park is just further along from the main entrance. There’s probably room for 4-6 vehicles which should be ample for the size of the premises. Quinta da Galeira is situated high above the village with glorious views of the river, and our particular house (no 1) is lovely. It is roomy, well furnished and has the luxury of a small patio area. It is also very well equipped and is a real home from home. The staff here are very welcoming and I include the big, soft dog who greeted us and demanded to be petted. Without doubt this is one of the finest places we have ever stayed. As everybody points out, the views of the Douro and the village are fantastic, but such views come at a price - and I mean the walk to and from town. It is very steep and includes cobbled streets and steep staircases. A careful 15 minute down trip can be easily doubled on the way back up. Although I am in my seventies, I am reasonably fit and mobile, as is my wife who is in her 60s. I would suggest however that anyone who is not fit or has mobility issues should avoid the walk. The bottom line - this fabulous accommodation makes a perfect base for touring the Douro valley - one of the most beautiful areas in the world. We look forward to returning.

The host was super friendly and helpful! He offered information about the area and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was central and a perfect starting point for hiking to São Cristovão do Douro, and had a lovely little area to relax outside. We were happy to find coffee that we could make in the morning, and it was such a treat to have breakfast delivered to our door bright and early!

The apartment is huge and every room has beautiful views of the river. The kitchen has a small balcony leading off it with lovely river and bridge views. Every room also has Aircon and when we visited during the July 2022 heatwave of 44 deg C and they worked perfectly. The apartment has everything you need and I would recommend it to my friends without hesitation.
