Our first stop in the Douro Valley, and one that was hard to beat. Carla gave us a warm welcome and looked after us very well throughout our stay. Our room was clean, comfy and had a lovely view from the balcony. Complimentary port in the room went down well! The grounds are lovely and we were given the freedom to explore. Both pools were clean and shared the views of the valley and surrounding area. We enjoyed delicious meal and wines produced on the quinta in the evening. Breakfast was also excellent. We hope to return and bring our family.
Quinta do Outeiro is a restored manor house in the heart of the Douro Valley, 3 km from Resende. It offers stunning views of the valley and its extensive 5 hectares of cultivated farmland.

We loved everything about this hotel. Excellent location, very quiet and amazing views. The hotel has character, very quiet and the rooms perfectly adequate. The pool was great with amazing views and there were plenty of sun loungers to go around. The service was great, especially breakfast where they laid on a feast every morning for the 7 of us !! Lunch was quick and easy too and very well priced. There aren't too many places to eat locally but enough for a 3-4 day visit, with great local food at local prices. We were very happy with our stay and we will be going back I'm sure. A perfect place to lose yourself in peace and quiet for a few days - with the odd vineyard to visit too.

Everything was absolutely wonderful - the rooms were very nice, cosy and clean, friendly dogs around the property were gr8 fun for our kids.. But the best part was Fernanda's cooking. You should definitely order dinner there. It is fresh, healthy and delicious! I almost cancelled our stay due to bad weather. But I am very glad I did not 😃. Breakfast perfect as well.
The best stay in Portugal. Recommend to everyone, will return for sure some day.
We had an absolutely incredible stay! From the minute we arrived at the breathtakingly beautiful location we were taken care of as if we were family rather than paying guests. We had most of our meals on location - which I highly recommend since everything we ate was very delicious, even with high portugese standards. Planning to come back ASAP - Muito Obrigado!
