We had an amazing stay at the beautiful 15th-century hotel in Porto area. The friendly staff provided great hospitality, turning on the heater upon our rainy day arrival. The room had fresh flowers and embroidered sheets, and breakfast by the fireplace included fresh fruit. The wonderful garden, forest, and guided tours of the old chapel and surroundings added to the charm. Highly recommended!

We do a lot of travelling and Casa de Cardido is definitely one of the best places we have ever stayed. Rui and Alexandra have created a beautiful and tastefully furnished home and went out of their way to make our stay special. They have thought of everything including fresh rolls delivered at 7am every morning. The garden is lovely with lots of different seating areas, a good sized pool and a ball area including basketball and volley ball. It’s in a great location just 10 minutes from Guimares. We also visited the beautiful city of Porto, just a 40 minute drive away and did some great walks at Sistelo and the Peneda Geres National Park. Rui provided useful tips on where to visit and we made good use of those. We wished we had booked to stay longer and hope to return one day.
