Was very positively impressed with Solar dos Frades. The room was wonderful modern and spacious, as was the bathroom. Inês the host was extremely helpful and available at any time, other staff also very nice. The outside pool and jacuzzi space is amazing, just sorry I hadnt more time to stay.

We were treated impeccably, with a warm welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was superb, plentiful and a variety beautifully presented and intuition about scrambled eggs for the English guest! The room was spacious, shower superb and welcome drinks in the mini-fridge,v welcome. The house itself is grand with interesting artwork. A large roof top terrace completes the experience. This place is truly wonderful. You get a feeling of luxury, and at the same time it is very cosy and homely. We visited on a very hot day and it felt like an oasis in the desert. The pool is so nice! Breakfast is good. The rooms are good. The guest kitchen is very homely and well equipped.

This place is way better in real life than the pictures! Theo and Fonneke are amazing hosts, they will give you recommendations that you MUST follow. Super friendly and kind. The breakfast is amazing, with fresh orange juice and an assortment of sweet and savoury ingredients. The place is very quiet so it’s amazing to rest and enjoy the calmness around. There are a very good bunch of great restaurants around that you definitely need to try. The room is great too with all the amenities needed, hairdryer, towels etc then you have a mini bar, a kettle and even a wine opener! You’ll find a few friends around, we were lucky to meet Luna a two week old donkey, and her parents. You’ll also be welcome by Luz, the kindest dog ever. I can’t recommend this place enough.
