Ventozelo Hotel & Quinta was in the most perfect location for us. Having a car to access the surrounding area was important for us to enjoy the area. The accommodation was extremely comfortable with comfortable beds and great linens. Breakfast was amazing with a great selection served by amazing staff. We came for the wine and the views, both of these were outstanding! Also, check out time being 12:00 was an absolute bonus.

Location and views are stunning. Staff were lovely and helpful. The food and wine were excellent. Room was really comfortable and lovely to have seating right outside. In fact there are seating areas everywhere. The pool was beautiful.

This is a remarkable place to stay. The bedrooms and the communal areas are decorated beautifully in a blend of traditional Portuguese and stylish pared-back minimal. Everything here is about relaxing, getting away from the buzz of the modern world and taking time to refresh. Dinners are excellent, and as you sit at a communal table, you really get a chance to stop and meet other travellers, which is a wonderful part of the experience. (you can sit separately if you wish, of course!). The rooms do not have a TV - superb - and you go back to the main kitchen for tea, coffee and cake whenever you want it. Outside the views across the vineyards to the valley are just sensational, so peaceful. The team at the Quinta are all helpful, friendly and really welcoming, you couldn't ask for more. And finally I must mention the visit to the winery, which is really interesting to see - and taste!

As families grow in size, so too do the needs of a family holiday. That’s why family hotels are set up to cater for all ages, from toddlers and kids to teens and adults. It’s THE most beautiful location high above the Douro in a vineyard. It’s simply glorious. Very country house - spotlessly clean, wonderful attentive staff, fabulous wine and excellent food. Oh and the pool.. it felt like staying with family and being spoilt
We have had a good time at Ventozelo as a family. Both the reception and restaurant staff were great - very welcoming and friendly. The location of quinta is simply unbeatable - it's hard to find more beautiful views around Douro. The facilities are great and well maintained, from house interior to public places. Also, we had a great time during our Jeep tour and nice wine tasting. Definitely a recommended place.
What can I say, absolutely breathtakingly beautiful! This was a trip to remember! The staff were so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We did wine tasting with Andreia, it was amazing, again so knowledgeable and funny! We had a ball. I don’t even know where to begin with our suite, it was so special, the views, the grounds and facilities were nothing short of phenomenal.
The location of the hotel is amazing. Great view of the river and the surrounding vineyards and mountains. The restaurant with its patio is wonderful and has a wonderful view. The pool is not heated, But totally serves the purpose and has an excellent view. The rooms are Very small They functional. The AC is weak and Doesn’t work all too well. The staff is super nice.
This is a beautiful place with a wonderful owner. Imagine living right in the winery! With breathtaking views of the vineyards and the Douro River. Martin is a wonderful host, very friendly. He taught us how to play a new board game, it was a lot of fun! We had dinner together and in the morning we had a lovely breakfast with an abundant selection of different local products. Martin also gave us a tour of the vineyard and winery and we tasted the wine he makes himself (delicious!). It was an unforgettable experience, thank you!
Quinta da Gricha is a large home with plenty of spaces for guests but with only 4 bedrooms. Our family took up 2 of those! Our hosts, Mateus and Luis were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. Their level of hospitality is something we have not experienced at many 5 star hotels. Breakfast was excellent, as was the dinner brought in by a local partner restaurant.
Beautifully located hotel overlooking Douro valley. Great restaurant and lovely pool area. 20 mins away is cute village of Pinhao where you can get boat along the river.
Lovely accomodation - Rooms 21 + 20: 2 together in a separate building, perfect for a family or 2 couples.
The family were so friendly and helped us when needed. The view from the outdoor kitchen and the pool was simply breathtaking!!! They got beverages, so you only need to bring meals you can prepare in a kitchen of heaven.
A wonderful, magical place.
Highlight of our stay was the beautiful garden and the jeep tour in the vineyards. The location is just unique, one of a kind. We would like to come back with friends and family.
