Lovely individual boutique hotel in superb rural location despite being five minutes from Horta's tiny airport. The hotel gardens were superb and there are lovely views across fields of cows and the ocean beyond. Breakfast was very good with a selection of cheeses, meats and eggs. The host Francisco was very friendly and gave us an individual tour on arrival and was always available to help. He very kindly gave us a lift to the airport to collect our rental car. Highly recommended.

Quinta das Buganvílias, hotel in Capelo

Located 600 metres from the small island airport, Quinta das Buganvílias is surrounded by a large park with lush vegetation.

Our stay at Quinta das Buganvílias was simply delightful. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and attentive. The property itself is picturesque, with beautifully maintained gardens and a peaceful atmosphere that provided a perfect retreat. One highlight was the breakfast, which was not just delicious but truly special. We enjoyed fresh produce straight from the quinta's garden, adding a local touch that made each meal memorable. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and authentic Azorean experience in Faial.

This is a wonderful pension run by a family. They did treat me very personally. They went out of their way to help me. When it turned that I needed space for several hours of remote work (which wasn't agreed earlier) they opened and cleaned another room for me for no additional cost. We also talked a lot. The location is very nice: you get on foot to the volcano or hiking paths. The area is full of natural beauty. I will come again.
