Housed in the old train station of Marvão/Beirã, it offers all visitors the fun experience of living in an industrial era station, the discovery of the Natural Park where it is located and the typical culture of the Raiano peoples of Alto Alentejo, on the border between Portugal and Spain.

Amazing 1926? building and stay at a now inactive building that is part of the closed Train Station next door. It looks like the Train Station but the ground floor has a large room with a fireplace that was used as a cafeteria eating area. No trains run on the railroad tracks and the location is very quiet day or night. The old kitchen where you make your own breakfast with owner-supplied bread, eggs, etc. has a fantastic original cast-iron range stove and huge marble sink. The entire ground floor is original. The second floor has upgraded bedrooms and bathrooms. Great exterior like Train Station with original Portuguese hand painted blue/white tiles. Hotel-recommended, nearby restaurants are excellent. The man and his sister who manage the hotel are friendly and very helpful. They are great hosts.

Featuring an outdoor pool, Casas de Marvão - Casa do Ribeiro is a detached holiday home set in the small village of Vale do Milho, in Beirã. Guests benefit from patio. Free private parking is available on site.

Check-in/out with Sonia was easy and she was very welcoming. We really appreciated her kind gifts of bread, chorizo, jams and red wine - all of which were delicious. It is a lovely house with everything you need to self-cater. It has a fabulous outdoor area with lots of seating, a swimming pool with loungers and a BBQ. The location is very scenic and ideal to visit Marväo and Castelo de Vide. We would have loved to have stayed longer.

Absolutely perfect! The house is so beautiful and comfortable! The front of the house is all in glass, with a breathtaking panoramic view! I's so cosy and all the details made us felt so welcomed. Every bedroom had its own bath, the beds were super comfortable. You have stunning views from every room. There was a lot of space. Outside, the house has an amazing private terrace, so comfortable to relax and enjoy the view! The sense of peace we feel there is unique. Irene is an excellent hostess and made us feel so welcome! We loved everything and we want to come back!

Located on the slope of Marvão, Quinta d’Abegoa is just a 5-minute drive from Marvão Castle. It offers spacious villas with well-stocked kitchens and barbecue facilities. Free Wi-Fi is available.

Villas at Abegoa feature a wooden décor and a patio with garden and mountain views. They also include a shared washing machine and dishwasher.

We stayed at Quinta d'Abegoa's apartment, Casa do Souto, which is very cosy and ideal for two people. Everything is really well thought out so the apartment felt bigger than it actually was. The bed is very comfortable and the shower is excellent. The outside space is beautiful - we loved sitting out, listening to the birds and the bells from the sheep, while enjoying the views of the both the castle and over towards the mountains and Spain. We made the most of being able to walk to restaurants in Marvao (although it is uphill all the way!) but we also cooked at the property - the kitchen is tiny but is very well-equipped and has everything you need to self-cater. Our host, Rosa, looked after us extremely well, bringing us breakfast every day, and nothing was too much trouble. We love the area around Marvao and will definitely return for another stay at Casa do Souto.

All rooms have flat-screen TV with cable channels, minibar, hairdryer, free Wi-Fi, car park, bar, indoor and outdoor terrace and restaurant serving typical Alentejo cuisine.

Very comfortable hotel with plenty of Portuguese character and charm. We were lucky to have a mountain view room from which we enjoyed a stunning sunrise. Easy parking outside the hotel although the road through the town is very narrow.

The house has a good vibe. It's located between the church and the railway, you can feel the history of the place. The garden is spacious. In spite of the heat outside, we were not affected by the heat inside. It's simple but good enough for a few days for a family of 5. The region is beautiful, landscapes are wild. Marvao (castle) and Portagem (for a swim) are just 15 min drive from the house.
