Avantos is a small, quaint village in a very rural area with lovely views. Our host was most gracious making sure all our needs were met despite being short staffed. Our room was very comfortable and breakfast was delicious. The village church has been designated a national treasure and well worth a visit. Eight kilometres away is a fantastic restaurant Maria Rita’s also with an historic element to it. A fantastic place to dine.

The house was beautifully decorated to the detail. Anabela and Alvaro were super kind and generous hosts, very thoughtful when I informed them I was pregnant and have certain food limitations. We had a key to enter and exit the property with the car at any time we wanted, the pool was all to ourselves and they even arranged a smaller bbq for us to grill some meat while enjoying the sun by the poolside. Best way to start our road trip around Portugal. Definitely recommend it and will return as soon as we can.

It was a perfect location to see the nearby festival. The hostess went out of her way to make our stay pleasant and brought us wine, sausage bread and oranges for breakfast. the gardens would be beautiful in summer along with the pool. the apartment was very clean. The hostess was there to greet us and shared her photos of the festival.

Some personal news - A few weeks ago I took three of my favorite people in the world on a trip to Europe and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. We went to @fosgoodwood to see some amazing cars and spend time with some amazing people, then we went to Paris, the Swiss Alps, Venice, and Rome. I have hundreds of pictures, and it was tough to pick just ten to share. Big thanks to @jackbuildsit and @rex.werks for always being there for me - you truly are my brothers.
