Quirquincho House, hotel in Tambopata

Situated in Puerto Maldonado in the Madre de Dios region, Quirquincho House has a balcony.

Near to the city but in the complete nature, no car/motorcycle noises, you only hear the animals. And only two guest houses. Room according to description. Juice at breakfast very delicious. Recommend to do the Lago Yacumama tour with the owner Nicolas.

Enai, hotel in Tambopata

Enai has a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, a bar and garden in Puerto Maldonado. There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking.

We stayed four nights in Enai and used it as a base while we explored the Amazon basin around the area. The accomodation was wonderful; clean, spacious and nicely air-conditioned against the high humidity of the jungle. We didn’t use the pool but saw many people enjoying it. The breakfasts were delicious, with a wide selection of cooked and fresh options. The lunch and dinner dishes were also delicious - compliments to Chef Eric, this is definitely the best restaurant in town and you could feel the love in his food. The highlight of our stay was undoubtably the staff. Jessie, Rogelio, Oscar and Marco were so inviting, friendly and helpful - thank you to you all for making our stay so special. One day we returned exhausted from a tour and fell asleep in our room, someone came to check on us and see if we wanted dinner before they closed the kitchen. It’s these little touches that make the difference; after a while memories fade of what your room looked like but you will always remember how kindly you were treated. We highly recommend Enai to anyone coming to stay in Puerto Maldonado.

On the outskirts of town in a tropical garden setting, very chilled vibe. Staff very helpful and ensured we had a takeaway away breakfast for our early flight. Only 10 mins to airport.

Isuyama Hostel, hotel in Tambopata

Exceptionally kind owners. I arrived at 7 am and they made me breakfast and let me check in. The tour was amazing value at 199 sols for a boat ride, trip into the rainforest and a search for caiman. The owner’s young son also took us to the swimming spot and took us for a short night walk to see the sloths. The food was excellent; it was home cooked and just 10 sols. The hostel is by the river and is a lovely place to spend some time in nature.

The lodge is more beautiful than the pictures make out. There is a great atmosphere. We visited with three children (two of which are teenagers). We went for the most basic programme which means you have a guide with you almost all the time - we did an evening walk, a canopy walk, a visit to the rescue centre and a cayman search. Our kids enjoyed the place very much.
