Great far away location. Quiet!. Just be warned that there is construction on the road to and from Puno and it is like full road reconstruction. Not on weekends. On a motorcycle it is possible to ride by just don’t fall under a tractor or off the bank.

We really enjoyed our 2 nights at the Utasa Lodge it was such a relaxing experience with wonderful views and the thick blankets kept us warm at night. This place is magical. Delia and Wilber were great, very friendly, we learned a lot about living on the island. They took us on the boat fishing, we tried on the traditional clothes and they booked for us the trip to Taquile island. Meal was delicious. Delia is a great cook. Beatiful sunsets. It was really relaxing stay.

Our hosts Mama Leia and Papa Mario were absolutely wonderful. They picked us up from the port at 4:30am, offered to make us breakfast, gave us extra blankets and warm water bottles to make sure we were comfortable. The food was so fresh and the fish was amazing! They took us out on the boat and taught us about fishing, the plant used to make their islands, how they used to cook, find eggs, etc… let us wear their traditional outfits! they set up a tour for us to go explore Taquile Island, and gave us parting gifts and sang for us before we left. I’ve never had such a wonderful stay, would return and recommend 100 times over and recommend to anyone I know. it was such a personal experience and worth every penny.

Exceptional experience. Very comfortable lodge, very attentive and delicate hosts. Lodge itself is very big and has plenty seats (and even one bed) to enjoy the lake and sunrise/sunset/sun outside. Even hot shower. Even sofa. And decent lunch/dinner/breakfast. Strongly recommended.
