Te Mahia Bay Resort, hotel in Waikawa

Te Mahia Bay Resort offers accommodation in Kenepuru Sounds. The resort has a barbecue and a private beach area. A TV with satellite channels.

Supposed to walk the QC track but our daughter fell ill and so we ditched the tent this section to stay here while her fever subsided the next day. It did not, so we stayed the next day, and the next day.... and eventually we had to give up walking the track at all. Spent our 4 days at Te Mahia and maybe that was a plan. It was beautifully peaceful and just a tranquil place. Accommodation is excellent, very comfortable beds, well appointed, everything you could possibly need, plenty of hot water, friendly owner, could not fault the place. Would come back with family to spend time here again. Easy to get the boat to/from Waterfall. Just an amazing view every day. Good walks up to the lookout where you can see for miles on clear days.

Aldan Lodge, hotel in Waikawa

Aldan Lodge offers self-contained accommodation just 4 minutes’ walk from the Picton waterfront and 8 minutes’ walk from Picton Railway Station.

We arrived off the InterIslander at 7:30 and decided to walk to the Motel not realising it was quite a long walk in the semi-dark. When we arrived the light and the heater were on which was lovely when you are tired. Next morning Greg kindly took us to the Railway Station with all our luggage.

This house is a good size for a large family or two families on holiday. The kitchen was modern and the pantry staples were helpful for cooking. the bedrooms were a good size, although a little old. We liked the garden for the kids and that it was placed really far back off the main road so we felt they were safe. It was a very quiet only a 2 min drive from the main street of PIcton. Plenty of hot water in the shower and bath tub and as we live in Australia, the kids found the carpeted bathrooms a hilarious novelty.

I loved the room, the warmth, friendliness and hospitality of the owners and their two kids, plus dog and cats. They have a beautiful garden. The hosts went out of their way to provide information on the local area and suggest activities. They were amazing and the continental breakfast was delish.

We loved this retro, lockwood, family bach. It has an excellent layout for a family and the setting and views were spectacular. Tuis fed on fax flowers right beside the deck. Everything was really clean and there were plenty of dishes and utensils for cooking Xmas. It is a welcoming sort of place.
