Lady Bowen Bed and Breakfast is a 155 year old hotel and is listed as a Category 2 building on the New Zealand Heritage List. It is situated in a quiet residential street in Thames which is the gateway to the Coromandel Peninsula with its many stunning beaches, walks and hikes. The Hauraki Cycle Trail is close-by and bicycle storage is available in our secure garage.

The location is off the main streets so it's quiet and parking is easy. Very peaceful area. Bedrooms were upstairs via stairway. Proprietor carried bags up for us which was very nice. Had a welcome glass of wine and enjoyed the back garden area which has picnic tables and chairs. We also had an excellent breakfast in the garden in the morning. The kitchen/dining area is quite large, with multiple tables for guests. The bath/toilet area is shared, but has multiple toilets and showers, and there are multiple sink areas as well. It all worked out quite well. It was a lovely place to stay.

Such a great little place to stay! We have 2 kids under 7 and a baby and it was totally doable for us. Comfy beds, lots of ammenities, and a fantastic, central location. We accidentally broke wine glasses and offered to pay, John kindly declined and was totally fine about it! Amazing hospitality.

The Chalet was compact but versatile with the kitchen well stocked pots pans and kitchen utensils etc. We noticed that you catered for children this is something you don't often see, even though we had no children it was a nice touch for families. The grounds were very well cared for.
