Our stay at Cabot Lodge was one of the highlights of our trip to NZ. It is a magical, idyllic location and our hosts Brad and Breidi and their team welcomed us with kindness and thoughtfulness in their attention to detail. We would definitely go back and stay longer next time we are in NZ! We HIGHLY recommend this most amazing experience at Cabot Lodge!

this little house is a cutie. Immaculately clean and well appointed, we were comfortable on sunny days and during a storm. We could walk to catch the boat to doubtful sound and also for a drink and dinner at the Church. The house is a lovely testament to the original owners, and the respect and love for the house and Manapouri is wonderful. we could cook lovely meals for ourselves which was very welcome after a while on the road. So we very much recommend the house. The stairs are steep and should be taken carefully, but you are greeted by a clean and comfortable bathroom with oodles of lovely hot water. Highly recommended. I hope we can stay again!

We had a cabin that overlooked the lake which was beautiful. There are some pretty funky cabins on the property and the car collection is fun.

We appreciated having enough beds for our family group of five. We were lovely and warm and had everything we needed. We were also perfectly situated for our Doubtful Sound adventure.

We loved the location, the history behind its build and how the place remained in the family. Our hosts Robert and Phillipa were outstanding, they couldn’t have done more for us.

It's one of a kind... and I liked it. The setting is unique and a mix of camping, dorms and motels in a Westcoast funky setting right by the lake. Reception staff was great! Was in a dorm which was basic but with pretty comfy mattress. Kitchen was okay. Bathrooms in various locations, can't really say much about them as I only stayed for one night. I enjoyed the cozy lounge where I connected with several travellers. Can't beat the price!! And the unique ambience.

The fun started when we were told that our two rooms that we reserved was only one for four people and only had a queen size bed. The young Canadian man behind the counter was frustrated that this had occurred AGAIN. He confirmed our booking with Booking. Com, but their system had not picked this up. He managed to place us in a room with two beds. The only good thing that night. From there, things only went down hill.

Easy to find. Nice and kind services. Close to the river but the walking path next to the river is not fun.
