Te Anau Lodge, hotel in Manapouri

Set on 7-acres of gardens featuring a pond, a fountain and a gazebo, Te Anau Lodge offers free Wi-Fi and stunning lake and mountain views. All accommodation includes continental breakfast.

What a fun experience! As an old Convent, the property has been kept as close to period as possible. Beautiful features, memorabilia and feel. Staff were more than amazing, we were greeted to freshly baked biscuits on arrival. As a group of 9 with a very packed schedule, it was a real treat to stay there and not just another hotel. I stayed in the rail carriage and it was a really immersed experience. It had a full sized bath, which I took full advantage of. The host cooked us breakfast at 5:30 as we had an early start, super accommodating and nothing was an issue.

We loved how accomodating the staff were with our 5 month old, even upgrading our room for half the price to make our stay more comfortable. All of the staff members that we dealt with were so polite and helpful. The room we were in was clean and well maintained with walking distance into town.

We had a cabin that overlooked the lake which was beautiful. There are some pretty funky cabins on the property and the car collection is fun.

It's one of a kind... and I liked it. The setting is unique and a mix of camping, dorms and motels in a Westcoast funky setting right by the lake. Reception staff was great! Was in a dorm which was basic but with pretty comfy mattress. Kitchen was okay. Bathrooms in various locations, can't really say much about them as I only stayed for one night. I enjoyed the cozy lounge where I connected with several travellers. Can't beat the price!! And the unique ambience.

The fun started when we were told that our two rooms that we reserved was only one for four people and only had a queen size bed. The young Canadian man behind the counter was frustrated that this had occurred AGAIN. He confirmed our booking with Booking. Com, but their system had not picked this up. He managed to place us in a room with two beds. The only good thing that night. From there, things only went down hill.

Easy to find. Nice and kind services. Close to the river but the walking path next to the river is not fun.
