Greenstone Retreat is THE West Coast holistic healing retreat centre with accommodation, camp ground, yoga and massage. Greenstone Retreat comes with organic gardens and welcomes multi day stays. The property includes a spacious historic villa, 2 basic family cabins, a renovated Caravan called Lolly, modern shared bathrooms, lounge, kitchens and a camp ground at the back. Lovely place with a great atmosphere. Sadly we only stayed for one night as we were on the return journey of our trip back to Christchurch, and needed a bed for the night. Could have easily stayed here for a few nights to enjoy the area.

It was great that we were right across the road from the Theatre Royal where we had our dinner that night. Loved the billboards and placemats telling the history of the founding families and local peoples' trials and tribulations in living in a pioneering time. Great what the people have done in restoring the history of this lovely wee township off the beaten track. So glad we got to experience it. Even though we were in the "Undertakers" house there were no wandering spirits noted :0)

The Staff, in particular, Celia went well above and beyond expectations- she was thoughtful, helpful, caring, fun, and engaging! She made sure I was fed and watered despite my returning late to the hotel. The room bed and shower were great. The hotel is tastefully decorated in keeping with the period it was built. Plus it was so peaceful ahhh!

Great stay - a few too many options for a toddler to break things though 😊 recommend for kid free holidays, or families with older kids 😊

I was in back room of Undertakers so it was quiet. Friend in front room was disturbed by family with two little children coming in about 11 pm and kids making a racket. Friend in McEnaneys had tea, coffee and milk - a bonus. Ensuite good too. But we couldn’t fit our ebikes in lockable shed as it was full with Pure Tours. We used shed at McEnaneys. Good we could drop off some food/luggage en route Greymouth as on bikes. Appreciated that consideration. Thanks!
