Lovely place and staff. The restaurant food and drinks were my favourite. Also the sauna and ice bath, although they don't always run because of the electricity limits on generators, but not a lot the hotel could do about that!

The location at Playa Gigante is a well kept secret, it is close enough but away from more crowded locations to the south and to the north. The people at Gigante are working fishermen mostly with huge smiles, and willing to go out of their way to help. Smiles and greetings guaranteed as they pass you by. No exceptions. Wow. The hotel, is a small operation run by its owner and loyal staff, always on premises. Very secure, very clean, very attractive and representative of the area. The dorm is huge and very airy, double beds, even when there’s no electricity you get the wind, location right at the surf spot (roll out of bed and surf basically), it’s a pretty place. During the day all the surfers come and hang out.
