It is a true manor house, which I had the pleasure of visiting at perhaps the best time of year—autumn, when the leaves are in every shade of yellow, purple, and red. I enjoyed a lovely evening walk across the bridge with a stunning view of the manor house from the riverbank. For a modest sum, you get a wonderful place to spend the night. I was even provided with an extra heater, although the central heating system was already on and working perfectly. And the Wi-Fi was quite decent as well. If I happen to return, I would definitely like to stay another night, take a proper walk around the larger grounds, and perhaps enjoy a glass of wine at the Naukšēni winery.

Beautiful place, very peaceful and quiet. Everything you need for a small getaway. The place has a rowboat. Saw some deer right outside.

It's central to Mazsalaca town centre, for shops 8-22, bus stops and wandering round this pleasant and interesting town, with a coffee shop and eating place nextdoor. Easy to find, with car parking and a secure shed for bicycles. A period building, the apartment has been modernised to retain some historical features. The promised wide selection of facilities and features are all there! Brilliant to have a range of tourist leaflets ready to use -the Mazsalaca map and guide was indispensable. Exploring on foot and bikes in hot weather, we particularly appreciated the high quality shower with overhead and side jets. It is good that the owner is investing in this building in a quiet but attractive part of rural Latvia.
