This place is for sure one of my best memories in Sri Lanka. It’s a heaven on earth, the cabana is in a such beautiful and peaceful place, you have an extraordinary view on the rice fields, buffalos, peacocks, birds, lake. This place is a dream for nature lovers ! The cabana is elevated, so you have a viewpoint on wonderful surroundings. It’s new, built in wooden ecological materials, with a confortable bed, and everything you need, with even a pair of binoculars to observe birds from your balcony or animals during the safari trip. The host family is very kind and helpful, they did everything to make our stay wonderful. It’a a family boutique hotel with only one cabana so far so you’re sure you won’t come across any other tourists. And it’s totally private from the family house down the tree. They cooked delicious food for breakfast and dinner and even some recipes that take a long time to prepare and that you will not find in any restaurant like for example a yogurt made of buffalo milk that takes 8 hours to prepare, served with coconut honey, or a dessert steamed in a leaf of some local tree, with sweet coconut and millet inside. They prepared different kinds of carry for each dinner with big portions of meat (which is unusual in srilankan restaurants) which were truly good. Unlike in other places they also serve fresh beer which is very cool (buddhists don’t drink so you will not find beer easily). They also gave us bikes for free and we had an excellent afternoon exploring the region, with its beautiful rice fields, numerous lakes with a lot of animals. I recommend not only doing safari but also stay at least one more day to have a bicycle ride (we stayed 3 nights in total and it’s a minimum to explore this beautiful region). They also do safari trips which is a must in this region! The host is a professional driver, knowing many things about animals, and proposes very moderate prices for the safari. This place is a very high value for very low money! Thank you!

Super clean, amazing and very attentive owner and staff and gorgeous view of the lake. The owner picked us up from the bus stop and showed us around the lakes. He is so knowledgeable about all the fauna and takes time to tell you about everything. We saw all kinds of birds, crocodiles, bats and the water buffalo. The owner showed us interesting places related to local culture and it was fascinating. The food and service were both exceptional. We did the safari tour and it was great but my favorite part of the trip was the Tissa tour by the hotel owner. Don’t miss it!

We had a amazing time at lakeside cabana, father gave us coconut on the arrival and it was delicious. Rooms are very comfirtable and clean, view is marvelous, they have nice hammocks to sleep or reading a book in fron of the lake, very quite, they orgernised a private Safari with indu and Jay Jay it was super great, we saw leopards 3 times and lot of elephants, time we was there is little rainy and it was not a problem for US. Finally they orgernised a nice car to go weligama and price is very comfirtable. It was a nice Stay.

Great immersion in nature, with amazing view near the lake. Good working Wifi too. Beautiful family with two really cute daughters! Very honest owners, who offered to help me negotiate with another seller. Gayan, the husband, brought me around to see bats on two nights (for free!) upon my request - a unique experience in Tissa to see dozens of bats waking up and flying in early evening. They also dropped me off at the bus station for my next journey.

Extremely enthusiastic owner ready to bend over backwards to make the client happy. Able to arrange safari trips, scooter rentals, take you to bus station etc. Excellent home cooked dinner by owner's wife, a true masterchef, food for two could feed six, worth the value of the stay alone. Awesome Welcome & Farewell drinks, take away breakfast ready at 5:30 for our early morning safari trip, couldn't ask for more. Would rate 11 out of 10!!
