Featuring natural hot spring baths both indoor and open-air, Suihoen offers traditional Japanese-style accommodation with a historic charm. It boasts artfully prepared Japanese dishes, served in the privacy of the guest room. Free WiFi is available in all rooms.

Room is clean and spacious. Bathroom in the room is well equipped and decorated. The public outdoor hot spring was so nice and relaxing. And there’s also a free private indoor hot spring that was very nice too. And I really like that the hot springs are 24/7. Meals were so good and all the staffs were so friendly and helpful.

Established in 1817, Bosenkan is a ryokan with a 3600 square metre Japanese garden and various hot spring baths including a spacious open-air bath. Free shuttles from/to JR Gero Station is available. Free WiFi is provided at the lobby, and free private parking is also available at this ryokan. Bosenkan has been awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence 2016.

The room was a tatami room and we slept in futon beds the staff will arrange for you when evening comes. Our room overlooks the Hida River and you can access the riverwalk by turning left at the entrance of Bosenkan. The room has a balcony and comfortable chairs are provided as you relax watching the flowing river and the trains passing by while sipping hot tea provided, such a relief in the cold of winter. The onsen located on the ground floor is separate for men and women and the women are very discreet and quiet and you can just enjoy the onsen in peace. There is also a foot bath in the garden to sooth tired feet with towels provided.

A very well maintained hotel with a choice of 3 onsens and multiple food outlets. Staff were excellent and the food was great. I would not hesitate to stay here again. The lobby cafe water feature is outstanding.

Set 800 metres from Gero Station, Yukai Resort Gero Saichoraku Bekkan offers 3-star accommodation in Gero and features an open-air bath. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk, a lift and luggage storage for guests.

The staff was very nice. I can only speak a little Japanese and he was very helpful, he tried to respond to my questions and explained the hotel rules to me in English. I appreciate the effort. The room is excellent. It exceeded my expectation. It was so big for single occupancy. I have a nice view of the mountain. I don't if it's a new system but I like the scheduling at the front desk where you write your room number if you want to use the onsen at a certain time. I think it is very convenient to look at whether someone is using it or not at your desired time. I used the open-air and indoor onsen and I was always using it alone. The dinner and breakfast are excellent. It feels so luxurious and you have so many options like you can cook nabe, grilled, western food, etc.

The amount of facilities was overwhelming and the service couldn’t be better our host helped us with the suitcase to our room. The dinner and breakfast was outstanding and everything was perfect to the very minor details.

Old hotel that is being renovated / loved again. The paint on the outside looks good, the inside is a bit tired and dated in parts, but clean and functional. Keep up the good work to revive and modernise.

Staff very attentive and very hospitable. Food is excellent. Property very well maintained and exude a tranquil charm as it’s located next to the river. Love the onsen spa pool. They have public onsen pool and private onsen pool which needs reservation in advance. Overall my family enjoyed our stay here and we highly recommend it.

The private indoor hot spring was a great touch, but the open-air onsen was truly on another level. I want my wife to give birth there but the baby probably wouldn't like that, and neither would the newborn

EVERYTHING. The dream come true in a ryokan (and affordable). I truly love the private onsen. It was bliss. The room, the yukatas, the ambience, the fact that look like is brand new construction but in a traditional aesthetic. A dream.

I felt really welcomed by the warmth that Hasegawa-san and her family provided ☺️. The ryokan retains its traditional charm & is completely made of wood, which is different from the surrounding ryokans. As a solo traveller, I initially felt worried about transportation but Hasegawa-san even greeted me at the bus stop (otherwise I would have missed the stop). I enjoyed chatting with the family too! Overall my stay was a really comforting and lovely experience!

Staff were nice and able to speak Chinese as well. Room is simple and clean with comfortable Japanese tatami. It is bit far away from train station and need to walk up to slope with luggages. Otherwise, short taxi trip may be a better choice. Private hot spring ia good and big space for family. Those shop in the city, Gero, closed around 5pm.

The Personal was really nice and friendly, the Inn is located right besides a Family mart and otherwise Central enough to reach every place of interest in about 10minutes. The rooms are really nice, and comfortable and offer tea, a private fridge , bathroom, and a small side room to sit at a window, which was great. The onsen is located on the rooftop and was really relaxing, we used them multiple times, even while also visiting some of the public onsen in Gero. All facilities were also clean and tidy. Overall the stay was a real highlight.
