The salt house has a lovely peaceful atmosphere. Incredibly we were the only guests so we felt very much at home. There is an amazing fully equipped kitchen with a shop across the road and supermarket 1 minute away. The location is just off the Shimanami Kaido and in a traditional seaside village. The host was very welcoming and helped us find a restaurant. This place would be perfect for a small group or family.
Boasting sea views, Guest House Gamigami provides accommodation with a garden, a terrace and a shared lounge, around 3.1 km from Saikon-ji Temple.

The views were lovely and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. The owner went out of her way to help us and even let us borrow her bike to get to the shops and back.

We were delighted with our stay at Hakata Plus. Super well located along the Shimanami Kaido, with adorable and generous owners. They will reserve restaurants for you for the evening to make everything easier.
Everything is new in the room which has everything you need to recover from an exhausting day of cycling. The beach is about a 20 second walk away.
I highly recommend!

I arrived in Onomichi & went to the cat temple as I paid via booking.com to stay at the Japanese Tea Ceremony hostel in Cat Alley. Check in was at 16.00 but by 17.00 nobody had turned up at the locked gate. When I went to use WiFi at the cafe in cat temple, staff told me that the tea ceremony hostel was known for scamming people so DO NOT BOOK that hostel.
Luckily the above hostel was available and I can highly recommend it and I loved Onomichi.

Typically, you can expect restaurants with kids’ menus, games rooms, fitness centres and a pool area where children can play and parents can relax.
