In room onsen was fantastic. Beautiful views of the lake. Friendly staff. Beautiful food for both dinner and breakfast. Public onsen was also excellent. One of us couldn't attend the public onsen due to extensive tattoos, but the option of a private onsen circumvented this issue.

it was ok for one night. it'd been fine for a couple more nights too. it's self check in and there are instructions on how to open the door but I felt that maybe an initial explanation was needed like where the remote for the ac, the password for the wifi, etc. The host came later though and left quickly. it was generally clean.
