Our stay at Minoriya was magical ! The unparalleled hospitality made us feel like members of the family! This beautiful house, full of authentic architectural details, immediately transported us into the heart of Japanese culture. The breakfasts around a traditional hearth were an incredible highlight. Each meal was prepared with great care and presented with such elegance that made every morning a delightful start to our day. Our hosts explained the ingredients and showed us the herbs that went in to create their recipes. We loved walking their adorable baby goats and falling asleep to the soothing sounds of frogs was such a peaceful experience. The house is ideally located near a gorgeous river where we swam and close to the stunning Okura waterfalls. Celebrating the summer solstice here is a memory we will treasure forever. The whole family participated in the festivities, including a tea ceremony performed by the children. We wore kimonos and lit fireworks, it was so much fun! The hosts’ attention to detail was remarkable, from the herbs and scented twigs added to our bathtub to the packed lunch provided for our journey back home. The generosity and hospitality we experienced were beyond compare. Every aspect of our stay was very thoughtful, leaving us with the warm feeling that we had made lifelong friends! This was truly an unforgettable experience, and we cannot recommend it highly enough!

We stayed there unplanned because of the heavy snow. The owner went out of his way to help us buy chaintires for our car so we could go home to nagoya. Drive us to find the store to buy and event put the chains on our car’s tires . this is even after we have checked out. Thank you thank you. Hope to be back again!
