OMG! I cant start to describe how wonderful was our staying here, this is an experience that you cant miss! the traditional japanese room was by far the most spacious room we had in our whole travel, the view to the garden and the mountains its amazing, also they provide teabags and a teapot to enjoy in the room relaxing, the private onsen was also a wonderfull experience included in the stay with the convenience that can be enjoyed by families and tattoed person since its reserved for each room. The hotel also provides transportation to a nearby train/cable car station, the breakfast its delicous as well as the dinner...oh and the staff! super friendly and as well as in all Japan they will do their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible, they speak english if your cant speak Japanese (tho everyone should try at least the basics if you plan to travel to a foreing country) Overall our experience in Hakone was awesome and staying here was the cherry on top!

Opened in 1878, Fujiya Hotel features Meiji Era architecture set in Hakone’s natural beauty. Just 500 metres from Miyanoshita Station, it offers indoor and outdoor pools, a spa and a restaurant in a converted Imperial Villa called Kikka-so Inn. Rooms feature bathtubs with natural hot-spring water.

The hotel itself is absolutely exceptional, and probably the most impressive luxury hotel I've ever stayed. If you enjoy the history exploration and the Japanese-western style, Fujiya definitely will be a great fit. The hotel finished its renovation 2 years ago and everything is in good condition. You can experience its glory and rich history since the majority of areas are free to explore for staying guests. (Do not miss its museum, library and garden. The swimming pool is a bit small, and personally I quite enjoyed its style.) In fact, my friends and I spent so much time exploring the hotel itself, the time spent in Fujiya hotel eventually became the highlight of our Hakone trip.

mistakenly booked our hotel room for the next day of our stay. However, the staff was so accommodating that they allowed us to check in on the day we arrived instead. This was truly amazing, as otherwise we would have had to spend the day on the street.

We were a family of 2 adults & 2 children and having a whole house is super spacious. The living room and kitchen is right beside each other, so we can all gather in the same area and keep a look out for the kids. There is a convenience store right before turning deep into the road leading up to the apartment, so you can grab some last minute stuffs if you would like.

I wish we'd had more time to spend here so we could take advantage of everything on offer. We stayed in Condominium A and it was really spacious. As expected it was in a different building from the hotel proper. We had included breakfast and dinner and they were great. I recommend not getting to breakfast too late or things will have run out. Baby-friendly: The hotel provided a portacot and they even had baby food jars as part of the buffet! They also had a selection of high chairs/ booster seats.

We liked the beautiful Japanese rooms and the free family baths (not onsen, but helpful when trying to bathe 2 children and a baby!) The staff were very kind and helpful. Playground right across the road for the kids!

This property gave us the recharge we needed after 5 hectic days in Tokyo. The baths and scenery were so soothing we came away well rested and ready to continue our Japan travels. This hotel is extremely kid friendly, with play areas, games, manga, free ice blocks and drinks and a baby bath in the private bathing area. Our 4 kids loved it! The breakfast had traditional Japanese and western options to suit everybody. I also recommend the Gyoza centre just down the road for dinner. It was delicious.

Great hotel for families: good sized rooms, private baths, buffet restaurant, all in a decent location right in front of the pirate boat cruise. Amenities in room are decent enough and the food managed to satisfy my picky teenager, toddler and mom. Not a place I would pick for a romantic get away, but it was perfect for our purpose.

Room is spacious, views of the lake were pretty, super close to Togendai-ko, buffet breakfast and dinner were yummy, Onsen and private Onsen are nice, massage services decent We travelled with a 15 month toddler who just started walking. Hotel provided a crib for the room and they have good child seats (with safety straps) available. We also got to enjoy the private Onsen with our baby which was a great experience.

Very baby friendly - high chairs and little kid friendly cutlery and plates in the restaurant, plus a crib in the change rooms and baby seats in the onsen so your little one doesn't crawl away while you wash up.
