Located in Date in the Hokkaido region, Guest House Yamada provides accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot spring bath. This 1-star guest house offers a shared kitchen and luggage storage space. Guests can enjoy quiet street views.

As a female solo traveler, I felt safe and comfortable staying with the host and her family. When I arrived, the mother and her son greeted me at the door. Although I do not speak Japanese, and they do not speak English. We were able to communicate by using our Google Translate seamlessly. The accommodation has everything you need, and the host is willing to go out of her way to make your stay the most comfortable. It is essential to have your mode of transportation as the location is far and not within walking distance. However, it is worth it if you want to explore Hokkaido. If I am lucky, I hope to come back here to stay again. Even though Japan is not my home, this accommodation made me feel as it were.

The staff were accommodating and they speak English which was a breeze! we booked for w nights so they gave us a complimentary pass to use the neighboring onsen, which we weren’t able to try. The food was really nice and they had plenty of options.

It’s close to the lake. The double room was spacious. The hotel was quiet and mostly clean. The bath was very small but no other people were there, so like a private bath.

We had a super stay at Yamada. The family went out of their way to help us. Tea and toast with jam was wonderful for breakfast. Go stay there.

I love how thoughtful the place is for families esp. preschooling children or younger. They had kids in mind in every aspect of the place. From rooms, to onsen, the pool and even a kids buffet spread.

The whole hotel is very family-friendly. When the kids are done eating they can play in the back of the dinner hall and the parents can finish their dinner without a lot of stress. The indoor playground in the basement is also great and very helpful on rainy days. The dinner and breakfast buffet is amazing. There should be more hotels like this!
