About four hundred years ago, the present village was built. Over the years, many families in Dana village have moved to the nearby village of Qadissiya in search of better jobs, schools, and housing. The village is now abandoned. When Dana became a nature reserve, we restored our family houses and made it a commendation for tourists who started to come and visit the nature. We named it Dana Tower Hotel.

Our stay at Dana Gate Lodge was one of the highlights of our 3-week trip to Jordan. We stayed here one night, and were sad that we had to leave. I wished we booked two nights, because Dana Nature Reserve is just breathtakingly beautiful. I recommend you to book a hiking trip with a guide from the hotel. We spent 3 hours in the mountains with Ahmed, the son of the founder of the hotel, and had the most beautiful experience. He shared his world and values with us, made us tea, and taught us about Dana and its fauna and flora. Thank you Ahmed! Then, after the hike, we had dinner at the hotel, with the other guests. The big buffet was the best food we had in Jordan. I cannot express how much I recommend this place! I guarantee you an unforgettable experience at the Dana Gate Lodge.

View is absolutely stunning, people are very very very friendly, nothing is too much. The camp is clean, cosy, and got all the basics. We were with a family with small kids, they arranged a great hike of 5km which was perfect for the 3 and 4 year old. We had a great guide Assem who was taking really good care of us and the kids. He went above and beyond for our well-being and even carried one kid for the last part uphill.

Family of two adults with two kids aged 8 and 10. We stayed in two double rooms with shared bathroom. Basic but clean and comfy. We loved the views, the outdoor spaces, the friendly staff, and the cats! We did a 3 hour hike in the reserve with one of their guides which was beautiful.

The perfect combination of a magnificent view, very friendly staff, good food and efficient but very clean housing. Our kids (17 to 14 years old) still label this camp as the highlight of our trip through Jordan. Which says a lot as Jordan is a chain of highlights. And the camp supports a lot of the local families on top! We definitely recommend taking a hike with our guide Ammar Al K. The tea he made during the hike was exquisite. He can tell you about the secret ingredient during the hike. 😄

Beautiful view from the tent, amzing host who knows eveeything about the area and trails around and can organize everything you need with very little advance. We booked a guide for a trail at 10pm the night before without a problem. Our guide was super fun, she showed us amazing viewing spots on the way, and even organized a little picknic for us half way through, and also helped with the kids (we had a 4 yr old with us). Shared bathrooms were super clean. Water in showers hot.

The service provided by Mohamed and Ibrahim was outstanding. They were really going the extra mile and upgraded us to a bigger and better room with heating without us asking. Very funny, hard working and honest people. Really better than expected. They did not ask me to write this review and are not family or related in any way!
