Chidambaram Villas - A Luxury Heritage Resort is located in Chettinad, within 5 km from Thirumayam Fort and Thirumayam Railway Station. Providing free parking, it also has an outdoor pool and a 24-hour front desk.

We had a wonderful stay at Chidambara Vilas. The heritage building has been restored with a lot of love and the results are plain to see. Every staff member went out of their way to be friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent too. Special thanks to Dinesh. The hotel has a lovely pool and the rooms on the first floor overlooking the pool have a huge verandah that is great to sit on. My kids especially enjoyed the games room that was very thoughtfully designed with several different games and comfortable seating, very different from the sad single foosball table that other hotels provide by way of "activities". I wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel is conveniently located for visiting Athangudi and Kanadakathan where there are many old Chettinad buildings, as well as the small factories making Athangudi tiles. I hope we can come back soon.

We stayed at the accommodation for three days and had a wonderful time there. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and accompanied throughout the days. The breakfast and Chettinad food was always excellent and the manager had a solution for every concern - thank you for that! In addition, we were able to talk to the owners about their proud family history and about the building in the beautiful Chettinad architecture property - where breakfast and dinner were held. A great experience and in the overall palket a clear 10 out of 10!

Excellent, clean, well maintained property, very friendly and helpful staff. The rich legacy of the palace was explained to us in great detail along with a detailed tour of the various sections of the palace. Rooms have a royal feel to them with lot of wood work. Great local cuisine . Highly recommended for families.

Very nice and friendly staff (this is a family run business). The building is very nice, spectacular columns, many old times objects and photos that are memories of the hotel owners' ancestors. And the surroundings are great - the village of Nemathanpatti where the hotel is located is worth a walk around, it's full of other beautiful Chettinad style houses - one of the neighbours even invited us to see his 110 years old villa inside. And the hotel food is great too - make sure you try their spectacular Chicken 65 dish.

Absolutely fantastic family owned place. Located in a typical Chettinadu palace but renovated to a highest standards. You feel yourself as a maharaja guest. Each room has it’s own design, modern yet authentic. Our room was impeccably clean, I checked the top of the glass bathroom doors and even there were no dust! The food is amazing and different every day (we stayed two nights), the stuff is responsive and nice, the massage was very good too.

The property and staff makes you feel like you have come to your own home. The senior respectable member of the family that own the mansion is also living on the property and engages you, answers your queries about the community history, family history, legacy and area. Food is also authentic traditional food.

It was extremely spacious, it did not feel like a hotel stay. The suite room was very spacious. The entire property had an old world charm, very cosy, extremely safe for a family with children. The childhood photos of the owner of the property added to the charm. The staff were extremely attentive.
