Tiernan's Luxury Cottages, hotel in Swinford

Set in Charlestown, within 19 km of Knock Shrine and 19 km of Kiltimagh Museum, Tiernan's Luxury Cottages offers accommodation with a garden as well as free private parking for guests who drive.

We booked this property quite late on the evening of our stay and arrived just before midnight after a long day's travelling. All our tiredness vanished on entering the property. It was absolutely enchanting and so well-presented, with many interesting antique pieces. It was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable- the cosiness of a cottage with modern facilities. We met our host Ann Marie the following morning. She was so lovely and gave us the history and a tour of the other cottages on the site. We didn't meet her husband, whose woodworking talent was evident in the properties. They have created a very special experience for their guests. We will definitely return for a longer visit in the near future and have no hesitation in recommending this property to family and friends.

Was in a good location. House was ideal for 5 of us traveling to see the wolftones in Castlebar on the Saturday. House was spotless and everything we needed was there. Caroline was just lovely and helpful said if we needed anything to ask but we did not have to ask as everything we needed was there. There was great communication before we arrived so everything went well and was perfect. Would highly recommend and we will definitely come to stay here again.

Nice place, perhaps more suitable for a family than a couple on account of the number of beds but then it would have been crowded in the living room.

We liked everything about this cottage. It was absolutely clean, and the kitchen had all we needed. My small kids loved the books, jigsaw puzzles and and DVD player with so many movies to choose. The location was great for what we had planned to see. My 2 teenagers found a bit far away from the noise of the city, but we had a great family time in the evenings, playing cards and table games. Patricia was brilliant, leaving us brown bread, eggs, butter, and milk. We'll definitely go back. It was a home from home 🏡 💕

Mick and John were excellent hosts and ensured that my daughter and I enjoyed a wonderful stop-over on our long journey to Galway. The rooms were clean and functional and the showers were hot and powerful. Breakfast was spot-on - a large range to choose from and something for everyone. Really enjoyed our short stay and very impressed with our introduction to Irish hotels!
