An exceptionally nice room with private bath on the top floor of a private residence. Our hosts were wonderful: very nice, informative, helpful, and excellent communicators. Room had all the makings for a light breakfast: Keurig coffee maker, with ample pods, a small refrigerator stocked with water, fresh milk and butter, yogurt, and a loaf of soda bread and servings of muesli, What more do you need? All in all, an unexpectedly delightful stay.

I loved the lodge, a quiet retreat, no TV, no WiFi, very little mobile signal... Amazing read two books, ran twice in the grounds of the estate. Plenty of walks by the liffey. A real escape from modern life. Breda (the lodge warden) was fantastic, helpful, friendly and a mine of information.

7 of us stayed here to celebrate a family birthday. The grounds are beautiful and our rooms were excellent. Enjoyed a quick dip in the pool too which was lovely. We ate in the Palmer restaurant in the golf club on one night and the Barton Restaurant on the second night - whilst the food was good the Barton was a bit lacking in atmosphere perhaps just because there weren't many other diners. We had a lovely tour of the garden given by the head gamekeeper.
