Our host was friendly and welcoming. Offered to move their car so we could park right outside. Offered help to carry up our bags. The room was attractive and comfortable. Lovely towels. The breakfast was superb. Beautiful fresh fruit salad, a pancake with fruit and cream, full cooked breakfast and in case we were still hungry there was soda bread and ordinary bread to nibble on. Set us up for the day. The host made suggestions about places we could visit as we travelled south.

It was a last minute booking and was the best decision we could have possibly have made at the time. We were driving from Dublin in the rain and arrived at Ferry House absolutely wrecked. Liz met us with such warmth and kindness that we didn't expect: the room was extremely clean ( a lot of hotels could not compete with it), teas, coffees were provided and she even turn on the sauna for us so we could relax and warm up. The place itself is like magic: small cottages, massive old trees, swings, tents and even ponies! Perfect atmosphere to do some art, sit down with the family and soak up the countryside sweetness to rejuvenate. Also, in the room we found a book with a family story, the history of the place and good spots for dinner. Another important thing- it's really quiet so we were sleeping as logs. With great gratitude to the family, their story and hospitality.

Everything! The rooms are massive and there are a number of amenities available on site that makes the experience so enjoyable you don’t even want to leave! The Front Office Manager, Sinéad, was so patient when I had to wait for my phone to boot up to process the payment. Chloe in the bar was outstanding, we mentioned it was our anniversary and when I ordered dessert, she came out with a plate with “happy anniversary” written in chocolate icing. We forgot to tip unfortunately, but we’ll definitely be back so we can make up for that.
