Ballyroe Accommodation, hotel in Castlehaven

Offering a terrace and garden view, Ballyroe Accommodation is situated in Leap, 13 km from St Patrick's Cathedral, Skibbereen and 28 km from Lisellen Estates.

Fabienne and Roland were very helpful with our enforced late arrival time, leaving the accommodation open pending our arrival (01.00!). The instructions for gaining entry were clear, and our breakfast items were waiting for us. We found the beds were very comfortable, and water was always hot for showering and dishwashing. For those who are looking for a place in the country, this may be your bag; nevertheless, it is a conveniently short run to the main road (N71). Overall we feel that the price we paid was reasonable, particularly as we had the benefit of two separate rooms, but it has to be said that the property is in need of a re-furb, particularly as regards the shower arrangement. It pains us to be critical, with such pleasant hosts as Fabienne and Roland, but future guests need to be aware of the shortcomings as outlined below.

I loved this whole experience she was very flexible to us checking in later as the roads were a little strange to people not from Ireland to get there. The bed was so comfortable, and you felt like royalty in the Archbishop room. The breakfast was so amazing your actually having tea on the family castle China which I think is so beautiful it was hands down the best place that we stayed during our entire trip!

Gorgeous Castle in idyllic location. Welcoming staff. Very comfortable room & bed, clean. Enjoyed looking at the past as I wandered around each room. Lovely breakfast. We had dinner in Mary Anns up the street the night before, top class food, Fergus the owner, good fun, a delight to chat to. I left the,Castle experiencing something different feeling relaxed & happy.

An amazing experience. We stayed here after getting engaged and it was beautiful. The Castle organised flowers and Prosecco. Beautiful area to enjoy our celebrations. We would have loved more time here. Unfortunately we didn’t get to go on a walk around the grounds as we had other plans but we hope to return. I have recommended it to family and friends.

We spent two nights at the castle and really enjoyed ourselves. We were able to come and go without feeling like we were imposing on the family in any way. The location was absolutely stunning and the castle itself was a gem of architecture beautifully and tastefully decorated with antiques. The breakfast was simple but delicious and we would definitely stay again.

The location and utter quiet. The view from our bedroom was stunning. There were 2 comfortable chairs placed in front of a large sash window from where we could sit and watch the ever changing view. The bedroom was spacious and very comfortable. The house is a wonderful, cosy family home that is steeped in history. There is an eye to detail. The linens in the bedroom are top quality. Each bedroom is quirky and different. The extensive grounds are a delight to walk in. We love it here.

Staff were lovely. Setting was perfect. Loved the history and feel of the place. Breakfast was great except for smoked bacon (sorry, we prefer it unsmoked). Like having no children around. Really restful. We'll definitely be back.
