Nice place close to the center. The room was big and functional. We had a nice rest before climbing the volcano. Also nice family leaving there.

I was initially turned off by the less than great reviews but I booked a dorm room anyway because of how affordable it was. This place is really nice. After talking to another guest who had stayed here previously, apparently Funk Yeah has worked hard over the last year to remodel and refresh the hostel and it shows. The on site restaurant was very affordable as well and the food was delicious. CA Travels also has an office on site making it easy to book trips and shuttles to other parts of Guatemala. I highly recommend Funk Yeah.

Magnificent hotel. I've stayed in this hotel several times with my family and their standards have not declined since my first stay several years ago. It's beautiful, clean, affordable and the staff is great. The buffet breakfast is also great. The hotel added mosquitoe screens on the windows, which is an improvement since the last time I was there.

Lovely small family run hostel with private rooms, we could use their kitchen which was chaotically organised but functional. Definitely not a social hostel as there are just a few rooms but has a lovely courtyard, hammocks and free coffee and drinking water.

The location is beautiful, the staff are so helpful, the walls are thin, the views are perfect. If you have respectful neighbours you can have a quiet stay, if you don't it can be a loud. Varied by the night! One thing to note is if you don't pay in cash upon arrival to pay by card there is a 6% surcharge. Safe, family friendly

We loved everything. Great location, staff and decor. Most importantly however is knowing that all money goes to their NGO supporting local kids to get an education. A one night stay supports a child's education for one week. The story behind this hotel is admirable and I hope they can expand beyond the current three hotels, 2 in Guatemala and 1 in London

What a terrific stay. I told the owner that the hotel felt like a home and he said, "yes, your home." Can't beat it. The antiques and eccentric decor was a treat to explore and observe, and the roof top deck was incredible. Huge shower. Hugo and family/friends who run the property were super fun to talk to, kind and helpful. I can't wait to come back.

The outdoor communal space was great, well thought out and super clean. Family room layout was great for us travelling with three kids. Some noise in the evening as all the rooms are directly next to the bar and communal area. (Entirely expected as a hostel and to be fair it quietened down by 10.30/ 11.00 - problem for us at all, just so others are aware) Great central location
