We had a fantastic weekend here, the staff made us feel at home right away, doing everything to accommodate our needs, and Georgia is a lovely character, always around with a smile and warm humor while working with everything! The location is lovely and quiet and has a good atmosphere, everything was nice and clean. They prepare local food, using fresh and local quality products. We had all our meals here, and enjoyed everything! Make sure to try the pomegranate juice for breakfast! It is a bit remote so it's recommended to have a car. This is a place we would like to visit again!

The Arolithos Traditional Village Hotel occupies a cluster of buildings on the mountains outside Heraklion. Built in the late 1980s, it has been purposely designed to reproduce an authentic Cretan village and much care has been taken to recreate the atmosphere of times gone by.

It's a traditional Cretan Village style place that you can enjoy being a tourist. The breakfast included stuff that any local would usually eat, you do not choose but get a variety that is available this day, omelets, eggs, pies, yogurt etc. If you rent a car to move around the island and need to organize a group event of a sort - it's perfect. There is an orthodox little chappel on the territory. There is a taverna and a minimarket, treatment like you are guest at your friends house style. I personally think it's amazing for winter time, it has a fireplace in each room. A/C is also there. Wifi - only available at Reception. If you have troubles walking, think of it and prepare, as it has uphills and stone pavements. You can get iron from Reception too. Very friendly people.

The villa was very pleasant, clean and spacious, with a fully equipped kitchen and washing machine as well as play area for children. Bed mattresses were very comfortable. The location is quite good for outings in Heraklion and nearby beaches (within 10-15km by car). We loved the quiet and comfort it offered for our 2 families with 2 children and the very airy view with a scenary dominated by the fields of olive trees and the mountain. The villa is also very close to the village of Kalessa where you can enjoy dinner with local specialties. In the night, you can see the lights of the villages across the mountain which decorate the scenery like stars on a black canvas! Perfect for a family holiday and relaxation. Highly recommend.
