We recently stayed at Kaliviani Traditional Hotel and were thoroughly impressed. The location is perfect, offering easy access to Balos beach while providing a peaceful atmosphere. The breakfast was a standout, with a diverse menu that catered to all tastes and exceptional service. Additionally, the cleanliness throughout the hotel was top-notch, making for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The view from our room was incredible offering sea views which was good as we found ourselves relaxing on the balcony every night admiring the view. The hotel is also very close to the beautiful beach Falassarna.
Ioannis was an exceptional host and went above and beyond to make sure our stay at Kaliviani was exceptional and smooth.
I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a great experience and most importantly amazing views! We will definitely be staying there again whenever we’re back in Crete. Best hotel in Crete we stayed in by far and we stayed at 5 different hotels including Kaliviani.

Outside area is fantastic with pool, sunbeds and lots of space.
Blinds in bedroom made it possible to eliminate all noise and sunlight to get a good nights sleep.
I recommend renting a car (free parking) to visit Falasarna beach and possible Balos as well (beware of 1 hour transport to Balos) Remember to purchase some of the hosts excellent olive oil.
Kissamos town is small and cozy with a fair amount of shops, cheap supermarkets and many restaurants.

Our stay at this hotel was disappointing, despite a couple of positives. The rooms were clean, and the coffee served in cute mugs was a nice touch. However, these were the only highlights of our experience.
We were assigned a room facing the street, and the noise from the traffic made it impossible to sleep. If you’re a light sleeper, you should definitely consider this before booking.
Additionally, we requested to be moved to a different room, but our request was denied, even though it appeared that other rooms were available. This lack of flexibility was quite frustrating.
Overall, the negatives outweighed the positives, and this is not a place we would choose to return to.

Excellent place. Clean and cozy. Very good location - close to the best beaches. See view from the terrace where you can have dinner with the family. The host is very friendly and kind. You have everything that you need in the house. Free parking. Reccomend!
We arrived very late as the flight was delayed. Still Niki welcomed us warmly herself and even provided small breakfast as we did not have time to go to shop on the way. Niki and her family are wonderful people and they helped us a lot. Kids liked the pets around the house. Pool was amazing and very well maintained. Only 5 min walk to the nearest beach. We had a car so the location right next to the main road was excellent.
Thor Villa is a fantastic property set back just a few minutes walk from the village. It is exceptionally well equipped with everything you could need. Nadia and her family were always on hand to assist with anything we needed and went above and beyond all expectations to make sure we were comfy and felt welcome from the moment we arrived.
Kostas the Owner was very helpful and friendly. The Garden and Pool are in great condition, WIFI was very strong and usable. All the farm animals were big fun for the kids.
The terrace, the garden, the view over the olive gardens and the seaside. overall, it’s a quiet location, up in the hills and we loved it because we had everything we needed + the host was always available and helpful. This is a family business and they are very nice.
Warm and friendly welcome by the owner. We loved staying in this place which felt like home. High-quality accommodation which was really cosy and clean. The owner is a very sweet lady who makes everything possible to satisfy her guests. It was one of the best accommodations we have ever had during our vacations. The location was stunning on top of the hill overviewing the village of Drapanias, the olive trees and the sea.
Nadia is an amazing host! She makes sure you feel at home from the first minute and she spoils you with delicious local fruit and vegetables. This house if perfect if you want to stay in a quiet location but still have easy acces to the beautiful beaches on this part of the island. Great house for a workation as well!
