When we arrived we were welcomed by all staff before we had even checked in, as they were walking by. It was a lovely atmosphere from the minute we got there to the minute we left. The room was a good size, very clean and comfortable. It was a bonus that you had the option to adjust the heating temperature for your room. Bed was comfy, no outside noise & plenty of storage. The grounds were gorgeous and I can imagine its beautiful when it snows & summertime!

This is an exceptional property, ultra clean, very tasteful decor, lovely farm views and the most wonderful, thoughtful hosts. The location made it easy to access shops and the A14 which gives easy access to the surrounding area. Private parking right in front of the property. Some extra touches of some snacks and drinks in the fridge on arrival.

The food and beer is excellent, and the staff are friendly. The location is good, very close to the town centre and to where my Dad lives. The Old Cannon feels like a well run local business and offers good value for money.

As families grow in size, so too do the needs of a family holiday. That’s why family hotels are set up to cater for all ages, from toddlers and kids to teens and adults. Typically, you can expect restaurants with kids’ menus, games rooms, fitness centres and a pool area where children can play and parents can relax.
It was a very well done themed Lord of the Rings pod. My kids loved it. The attention to detail and facilties were amazing. Really impressed with the decoration.
Fantastic place to get away from the rush of every day life. A nice little retreat. Magical. Our family of 4 and little dog enjoyed it. Well equipped kitchen -microwave, toaster, kettle, cups, plates and cutlery. Plenty of walks-river, forests and fields. Our dog loved it. The host is fantastic and very willing to help out. We loved having the forest close by and spent a lot of time outdoors. Weather wasn't great but for us it added to the magic, adventure and setting of the weekend.
Exactly as described on website. Cosy, warm and immersive experience. Great winter retreat if your looking for an escape from city life, birthday surprise or fans of Lord of the Rings!
