Buffalo Bill's, hotel in Uckfield

Buffalo Bill's is an oak-beamed country inn set in the heart of Sussex, next to unspoilt woodland. It has a bar, a restaurant and free parking.

We stayed at Buffalo Bill's motel on 14/09/24. The good points were: the welcoming was great, we had food and it was tasty, (not sure how fresh it was but still enjoyable), the services were reasonably okay, so I paid for the service charge.

Clayton Wickham Farmhouse, hotel in Uckfield

Featuring a garden and views of garden, Clayton Wickham Farmhouse is a bed and breakfast situated in a historic building in Hurstpierpoint, 14 km from Preston Park.

We stayed in the four poster room which was beautifully furnished and spacious with views over the gardens and fields. In the morning Suzzi cooked a delicious breakfast which we took in the garden dinning room. The farmhouse was full of English charm and history throughout - a luxurious and relaxing place to stay in a fabulous rural location.

When we stayed for two nights this week It was quiet, peaceful, and far enough away for us from the hustle and bustle of Brighton where we have family to visit. They do host weddings though, so you might wish to check if there are any booked for when you plan to stay. The bedroom was lovely, as was the dining area both of which were a bit unusual, and quirky. We were able to take our dog; he sat under our table when we had breakfast, and there are fields which belong to the property we could give him a bit of a stretch around.

We absolutely adored the uniqueness of the property! Lovely furnishing, inside and outside. The welcome we had was exceptional and we loved the little tour when we got our keys. Great parking, closer to the room meant that it didn’t take much to bring all our luggage to the room (with a toddler that’s about!) the room was clean and the bed was comfy. The continental breakfast was delicious with many hot drinks options. We can’t wait to stay again in the future!

Some of the staff very helpful and friendly. Loved the pool and the general space of the hotel. There was no big list of things you can’t do. Set up with option of bar food in evening was perfect for the kids 😀

The stay was ok. People were kind but you could feel that kids were not really welcomed. It’s a golf hotel and I can understand that. We stayed for one night as the location were convenient for us. We stayed at the family room which was very big but the beds are just suitable for smaller children for teenagers certainly not. The hotel would need need renovation. The Color is coming off and everything is a bit old. The food was really ok.

We loved how quiet, peaceful and secluded this lovely location was- perfect for recharging away from it all. We had the ideal “baby moon”, just us two and our dog- who had, if anything, too much fun! Everything was comfortable and perfect. We really appreciated the personal touches from owners Geraldine and Mark. We will definitely be back!
