OMG, what a Juwel! well decorated house, all in perfect condition, spacey. Quiet, heavenly beds. Mary was sooo helpful picking marvellous walkings for us through magnificent landscape and she did the booking for dinner in places we wouldn’t have found without her. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and plentiful. She was so humerous and lovely to shat with. Thank you Mary, we never forget you. It was hard to leave😘

Located in the heart of Dartmoor National Park, Duchy House Bed and Breakfast is nestled in the village of Princetown. Surrounded by hiking trails, the property offers free WiFi access and free on-site parking.

We really liked to stay at Duchy House. It's a very cosy place and Richard and Debbie are very nice hosts. They also gave us some information about were to walk in the Dartmoor. The rooms were very nice with comfortable beds. We arrived a little bit earlier and Louise, the very friendly cleaning lady, opened, organized the keys, and gave us a warm welcome. We also liked the breakfast. Opposite the house there is a playground. Our kids loved to play football there (we always have one in our luggage)..

The atmosphere was idyllic, it was quiet and peaceful. We had our medium sized dog with us for 2 nights and all the staff just loved him so we didn't feel bad for having him. A great centralised location for getting to all the walks. The food and staff were just lovely. Already looking to book for our next stay. My husband also called ahead, as it was a special occasion for us, and asked for flowers and champagne to be put into the room which Paddy did!! Honestly, just lovely.

Watersports such as white water canoeing can be enjoyed on the River Dart, which is a 5-minute walk from the hostel. Dartmoor National Park offers a host of activities including mountain biking, family cycling routes and rock climbing.

Beautiful old building with amazing character and superb value for money. Welcoming atmosphere and staff and the nature of YHA is you always end up chatting to other interesting people when in the communal eating area. Just an absolutely fantastic stay on our overnight motorcycle tour of Dartmoor. The perfect antidote to over priced, unecessary accomodation prices everywhere else. Loved it and definitely going to make a return trip in the future 😎👍

Such a peaceful location. Mary and her family were very welcoming and considerate. Breakfast was delicious and filling (we had planned places for lunch but no need!). So many places to explore locally. This was the perfect spot to recharge. We loved being able to wake up to just the sound of birds and a view of the trees. Photo is from the window seat, my reading perch. We didn’t want to leave!

Owners very nice and location great, right in the middle of Dartmoor, (car needed), but very uncomfortable bed. It was so soft that you just sink, had a terrible night and had to leave the next day with no refund as they told us that because we booked through booking.com they couldn’t give us a refund. However, I think that they definitely could have arranged something. For the price they charge, they should defo get some proper beds in.

Chris and Sue make you feel like part of the family. Every other guest was friendly, welcoming and made the stay so much fun. Great breakfast, great evening meal and I was lucky enough to catch the live music (although I missed the pizza).
